The Guest Lab Presenting at the AMMF European Cholangiocarcinoma Conference 2026
Members of the Guest Lab presented their research at the AMMF European Cholangiocarcinoma Conference 2026, taking place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Stansted, UK, from 13–15 May 2026.
The laboratory’s work was showcased through both oral and poster presentations alongside contributions from leading international researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals working in the field of cholangiocarcinoma research and care. The conference provides an important forum for sharing the latest scientific advances, fostering collaboration, and improving outcomes for patients affected by cholangiocarcinoma.
Our very own Dr McCaffrey was presented with the award for best Fast Science presentation at the conference.

Attendance at the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation’s 13th Annual Conference in Salt Lake City
Rachel had the honour of attending the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation’s 13th Annual Conference, held from 1–3 May 2026 in Salt Lake City, USA, which also honoured the 20th anniversary of the foundation.
The conference brought together researchers, clinicians, patients, advocates, and industry partners from around the world to discuss the latest advances in cholangiocarcinoma research, treatment, and patient care. Attendance at the meeting provided a valuable opportunity to engage with the international cholangiocarcinoma community, learn about emerging scientific developments, and strengthen collaborative links within the field.
Dr McCaffrey Successfully Completes Her PhD
On 19 January 2026, Caitlin McCaffrey, the first PhD student in the Guest Lab, successfully completed her viva examination and was awarded her doctorate.
Dr McCaffrey will remain with the Guest Lab as a Postgraduate Research Assistant, continuing to contribute to the laboratory’s ongoing research activities and projects.
AMMF asks Scottish Parliament to Rethink Liver Cancer
On 11 June 2025, members of our Lab attended and presented their work at the Rethink Liver Cancer campaign event at the Scottish Parliament (Holyrood), calling for a Fairer Deal, Faster for people diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma in Scotland.
